a) Information you provide

• Account registration: name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash), and optionally a phone number.
• Profile information: NEET target year, coaching institute, class (Class XI / XII / Dropper).
• Payment information: We do not store card or bank details. Payments are processed by Razorpay, which operates under its own privacy policy.
• Communications: messages you send us via the contact form or support email.

b) Information collected automatically

• Test attempts, answers, scores, time taken, and subject-wise performance data.
• Log data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and timestamps.
• Device information: device type, screen resolution, and language settings.
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5).

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and verify your identity.
• Provide the Platform's core features: mock tests, PYQ practice, analytics, and personalised revision plans.
• Process subscription payments and send payment receipts.
• Send transactional emails (e.g., account verification, password reset, test completion).
• Send you product updates, new test releases, or NEET-relevant notifications — you may opt out at any time.
• Analyse aggregate usage trends to improve the Platform.
• Detect and prevent fraudulent, unauthorised, or illegal activity.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We process your personal data on the following grounds:

• Contract performance: processing necessary to provide the services you sign up for.
• Legitimate interests: platform security, fraud prevention, and product improvement, balanced against your rights.
• Consent: for optional communications such as newsletters and promotional emails.
• Legal obligation: where we are required to process data by law.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share it only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: trusted third parties who assist in operating the Platform (e.g., Supabase for database hosting, Razorpay for payments, email service providers). These parties are contractually obligated to keep your information confidential and use it only to provide the contracted services.
• Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or governmental authority in India or another jurisdiction.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred; we will notify you before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
• With your consent: in any other circumstance with your explicit permission.

We use the following categories of cookies:

• Strictly necessary: session authentication cookies required for the Platform to function. These cannot be disabled.
• Analytics: anonymised data to understand how the Platform is used (e.g., page views, test completion rates). You may opt out via browser settings.
• Preferences: cookies that remember your settings (e.g., dark mode, filter selections).

Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may impair your ability to log in or use the Platform.

If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records (e.g., financial transactions for tax and audit purposes, typically 7 years under Indian law).

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including:

• TLS encryption for all data in transit.
• Passwords stored as encrypted hashes (never in plain text).
• Row-level security (RLS) policies on all database tables.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Platform is intended for individuals preparing for the NEET examination and is directed at users who are at least 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data (via your Profile page).
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Object to processing of your data for direct marketing.
• Data portability: request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of the page and, for material changes, notify you by email or by a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
